Project Details
Loxford School is an All-Through School, catering for 2,400 3-18 year olds in Ilford. Having built their primary school building two years ago and their secondary school five years ago, it was identified that the School’s existing sports hall, swimming pool and changing facilities were in inadequate condition for the School to fulfill their vision of helping its pupils fulfill their academic and personal potentials.
Reds10 were engaged to deliver the project, which was part-funded by the local borough, leading the design and planning phases and taking the project right through to completion and handover. The construction works were phased, allowing the facilities to still be used throughout the reconstruction.
The project, which was officially opened by the Redbridge Mayor at the end of July (read more in local press here), included re-profiling the pool, re-fitting and installing a new roof for the swimming pool and demolishing the existing changing room building, replacing it with a new build changing facility, providing the School with facilities with the capacity for up to 200 pupils at any one time. A brand new reception area was also completed, which allows the swimming pool and changing facilities to be used by the local community outside of school hours.
